Vilantae contains d-Calcium Pantothenate, which is derived from vitamin B5, and is used by the body in conjunction with two other substances, adenosine triphosphate and cysteine, to create the vital enzyme coenzyme A.
What causes Acne?
Coenzyme A is an essential regulator for the skin, as it ensures that fatty acids are broken down and absorbed back into our systems. When we do not have enough coenzyme A in our systems, the body is unable to break down all the fatty acids that are building up, and so the body has to release them through the skin as oils (sebum) through the sebaceous glands. These glands are very sensitive, and can be easily blocked by excessive sebum, which causes a spot to form. The difference between normal spots and acne spots is that excessive sebum creates the ideal environment for the p.acnes bacteria to multiply. This type of bacteria is present on our skin as part of the natural microscopic balance, but when they get out of control they can irritate blocked sebaceous glands, causing painful acne swellings to occur. These swellings can take months to heal, and can be very difficult to treat, and even if the spots do eventually go away on their own or with medication, they can often leave significant scarring across the skin’s surface.
How Does Vilantae Prevent Acne
Vilantae works to prevent your body from over producing sebum in the first place, by supplementing your d-Calcium Pantothenate levels. Of all the substances needed to create the essential coenzyme A enzyme used for breaking down fats, d-Calcium Pantothenate is the only one that the body cannot produce itself, and so deficiency in this vitamin B5 substance in your diet can mean that you are not producing enough coenzyme A, which leads to excessive sebum production, blocked pores and persistent acne.
Vilantae also contains a number of other vitamins and minerals essential for healthy skin, such as folate, selenium and zinc.
